Our client, an American multinational clothing and accessories retailer, is looking for an Apparel Designer for their New York, NY location. Responsibilities include creating original concepts that encompass style, color, and fabric as a result of interpreting fashion trends. The role involves producing sketches and may make seasonal presentations of proposed designs. Additionally, the candidate will analyze fashion trends and partner with sourcing and materials development. Basic fit and body block information may be provided, and fit sessions may be attended.
Requirements include excellent communication skills, strong sketching ability, and the technical expertise to independently lead fittings and develop tech packs. Design experience in fleece, knits, sport, and swimwear is necessary. A portfolio is required, along with a bachelor's degree in design or equivalent experience. Related design experience is also needed.
