Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Location: Multiple locations across Virginia

Setting: In-Person Private Practice / Clinic

Specialty: Pediatrics

Schedule: Monday-Friday (8:00 AM-7:00 PM)

Flexible scheduling: 3-hour shifts available & 5-6-hour shifts available

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support pediatric speech and language therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Assist with speech and language therapy services under the supervision of an SLP.
• Conduct direct activities designed to develop pre-language and language skills.
• Assist with oral-motor activities within the scope of practice.
• Support vocalization and communication development.
• Help children develop functional communication skills.
• Work with children with speech and language disorders and other disabilities.
• Implement therapy activities prescribed by the supervising SLP.
• Monitor and communicate patient progress.
• Maintain accurate and appropriate documentation.
• Collaborate with SLPs, families, and other healthcare professionals.

Education, Licensure, and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences or a related field.
• Current Virginia SLPA license/certification.
• Pediatric experience preferred but not required.
• New graduates are welcome to apply.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• TB test required.
• Ability to commute to the assigned Virginia clinic location.
